Matic Bridge explained. Deposit funds from Ethereum to Polygon.
So you are planning to deposit funds from Mainnet Ethereum to Polygon Mainnet. Here is a tutorial on how to use Matic Bridge in the AlphaWallet app. If you are transferring tokens from Ethereum, you will receive exactly the same number of tokens on Polygon. Usually, it takes up to 5 minutes. If you want to withdraw tokens from Polygon to Ethereum, it might take up to 3 hours (or 7 days depending on the method).
Step 1. Open AlphaWallet app
If you don’t have the AlphaWallet app yet, you can download it here. If you already have a wallet with funds, you have to import a wallet. Note, that we are an open-source (audited many times), non-custodial wallet with a secure-enclave security level. So your funds are safe.
Step 2. Open Browser
Go to the Browser tab. Open side menu (3 dots in the top right corner). Select ‘Scan QR Code for URL’
Step 3. Scan QR Code
You have to open Matic Bridge https://wallet.matic.network/bridge. You can just scan a QR code below. It will open a right link for you.
Step 4. Connect
Inside the Matic Bridge (Polygon), select ‘Metamask’. Confirm the transaction. You are now connected to the Matic Bridge. Enter the amount you want to transfer from Mainnet Ethereum to Polygon Mainnet.
Step 5. Continue
After you enter the amount, tap on ‘Transfer. Then just tap on ‘Continue’ button few times.
‘Continue’ , then ‘Continue’. At one point, you will have to sign a transaction with AlphaWallet. Confirm.
Now, you have to be patient. There is a chance that you will have to confirm one more transaction. But most likely, just wait until you see new activity. It will indicate that the transaction is confirmed and your funds deposited to Matic/Polygon network. Boom! You made it!
